Motorcycle Season Is Back: Make Sure Your Bike Is Ready

Alternative Automotive • May 7, 2026

The weather’s warming up and bikes are back on the road, motorcycle season is here.

But before you take that first ride, it’s important to make sure your bike is actually ready after sitting all winter.

Start with the Battery: If your bike hasn’t been started in a while, the battery may be weak or dead. Even if it starts, make sure it’s holding a charge.

Check Your Tires: Cold weather can drop tire pressure and cause cracking. Check:

  • Air pressure
  • Tread
  • Any signs of dry rot

Look at Fluids & Brakes: Make sure your oil and brake fluid are in good shape, and test your brakes before you hit the road. If anything feels off, don’t ignore it.

Lights & Visibility: Quick check: headlights, brake lights, and turn signals. You want to be seen, especially early in the season.

Take a Few Minutes, Ride with Confidence...
It’s easy to get excited and just go, but a quick once-over can prevent bigger issues later.
